Sri Lanka – China Friendship Association, the pioneer people to people friendship organization donated essential medicines worth of Sri Lanka Rupees 1.5 million to the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children in collaboration with Shanghai Magnolia Foundation for International Exchange of China. The ceremony of official handing over of stock of medicines held on 26th October 2022 at the Auditorium of the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children. Mr. Chen Xiangyuan, the Counsellor of Embassy of People’s Republic of China in Sri Lanka graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Chen Xiangyuan said that the China would be extending its fullest support to Sri Lanka to come out of all difficulties as a most sincere and reliable friend of Sri Lanka. Mr. Ananda Goonatilleke, Attorney-at-Law, Hony. President, Sri Lanka – China Friendship Association expressed gratitude to the Shanghai People’s Association for Friendship With Foreign Countries and the Embassy of People’s Republic of China in Sri Lanka for their extended support to the success of the project.
Dr. H.S.J. Senapathi, Deputy Director of the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children officially received the stock of medicines. “We grateful to Sri Lanka – China Friendship Association and other collaborated organizations who contributed to make this donation which helps us to treat children with specific diseases. The generosity of Chinese people is highly appreciated” said Dr. Senapathi.
